Hello!

My name is Kathryn and I am an art educator, aspiring children’s book author and mother living in Chicago.

I grew up in northeast Ohio where I spent most of my time art-making, compiling my own mixed CDs and redecorating my bedroom over and over again. I attended Miami University where I studied the History of Art & Architecture and Classical Humanities followed by Case Western Reserve University where I earned my MA in Art History & Museum Studies in conjunction with The Cleveland Museum of Art.

I have spent my adult life teaching children of all ages in schools and museums, including the Frank Lloyd Wright Trust, the DuPage Children’s Museum and the Western Reserve Historical Society.

My time spent working with children has inspired me to appreciate the power of a keen observation, the joy of uninhibited creativity and the beauty often overlooked in our everyday lives.  It is my hope that my writing explores these themes in new ways, while speaking to readers of all ages.  I am a lifelong learner, avid traveler and active member of SCBWI and 12x12.

Nothing is boring if you keep asking questions.
